With the background check what they are looking for are a few things. They are looking for felonies. The ones that really stick out to an employer, especially in this field, they are looking for people who have been behind bars for drugs as well as car accidents that they might have been at fault for. The other thing that you will find them looking for and really holding against you is if you have stolen anything. This is because of the fact that if you have stolen once, they might fear that if you are in a desperate enough position, you would steal again. They normally ask on applications if you have ever been arrested. Normally, if you say that you have been arrested as you will check a box on the application, they will have lines for you to explain what you were arrested for. This allows you to explain things for your side of it all. Then, they will read the information that they have been given by the background check that is done.
This all can take a while so if you don’t hear back from them right away, do not be too worried. The reason for this is that they have to order the background check and then they have to do the initial credit check as well.
